As I have started doing more and more off-roading, specifically with large groups, I have had the need for a radio. Along with a radio comes the need to mount an antenna. At first, we walked them through what I wanted to do with this new design. I specifically instructed them to add a place for a new nmo antenna mount for my radio. We did have to go back and forth with a couple of measurements and some designs. Finally, after a bit of custom CAD work, they found the custom solution for what we needed.

The ABS plastic topped off with a custom coated outdoor material really stands up to the test of time. I have had this same material on my truck for the past year with no fading or water leaks. I must say this material has really performed flawlessly.

Not to mention, we have added a platform for where we will be putting our antenna mount. We have also asked them to add some reinforcements as more weight will be put on it.

It also includes two cutouts for chase lights that we will be swapping over from the existing enclosure that we already have on our truck. Most importantly, we managed to get our “BTR” Beyond the Raptor branding built into it. This truly is a one-of-a-kind brake light like no other.

1. So before installing this new custom-made brake light, you will have to pull the old one off.
2. Next, you have to swap the chase lights from the old one to the new one. This will bring all functionality back when we reinstall it.
3. Up next, install the new antenna mount on this new custom 3d printed brake light.
4. Next, install the new wiring and install it back up to the brake light system.
5. Finally, give it one final test to ensure all the wiring is working right, and you are good to go.

The Results

So we designed the model, printed it, swapped out the components, and then installed it. So it is pretty clear to you by now that the installation process for 3d printed parts can be easily done at home by loosening a few screws.
